Hon. Judge R. Neel McDonald is retiring as Associate Judge of the Fort Worth Municipal Court, having been first appointed to the bench in 2006. He brings a broad array of experience as a skilled trial and appellate litigator in both civil and criminal courtrooms all over the State of Texas. He has prosecuted all levels of Misdemeanor and Felony cases, been a Defense Litigator in traditional Civil cases, as well as prosecuting the Involuntary Civil Commitment of Sexual Violent Predators. He has also recently completed the creation of an entirely new body of Civil Trial Procedural Rules for the Fort Worth Municipal Courts. He is a talented and experienced negotiator, who consistently arrives at strong outcomes for his clients, both at trial and in the boardroom.
He is presently the Presiding Judge of the Jury Trial Court in Fort Worth, where he presided for several years. He has also been the past Presiding Judge of the Code Court, as well as a Jail Magistrate. A native Texan, Judge McDonald earned his Baccalaureate at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
He is excited to be returning to Civil Practice with RPM, and thrilled to be staying in his adopted Hometown of Fort Worth! He loves to begin his day with coffee and quiet conversation on the couch with his beautiful wife Gracie, and enjoys being active in the lives of their kids. While he loves Fort Worth, he and Gracie and the kids love to spend as much time as possible on their ranch property in Freestone and Navarro Counties in Texas. He LOVES to cook, and for someone else to clean up.
